From a press release:
Quimby Mountain Band plays Altamont Brewing Company, July 17
Quimby Mountain Band is bringing its Northeast roots to the south.
The New Jersey-based band has several stops on a southern tour this July, including July 17th at The Altamont Brewing Company in Asheville, N.C.
Quimby Mountain Band is a top drawing act in the Greater New Jersey region. The band’s CD Release Event at the Blairstown Theater in February was a sellout. The new album, the band’s third, has gotten great reviews. Loren Kessell, writing for the Aquarian Weekly, says “Quimby’s new album demonstrates the depth of their music, with each song telling its own story. It’s a blend of musical styles that boasts individual personalities while seamlessly tying the disc together.”
The band recently opened for Foghat at the Starland Ballroom, and over the past couple of years have have also opened up for the likes of Marshall Tucker, Railroad Earth, 7 Walkers w/Grateful Dead’s Bill Kreutzman, Dickey Betts, Dark Star Orchestra, and Cabinet. They’ve played MusikFest, WNTI Stage, Bourbon Street Blues Fest, Great Pocono Raceway Festival, Centenary Blues Bash, Groove in the Grove, JoeFest, and other festivals throughout the Northeast. One major music publication has named them one of America’s Best Unsigned Bands.
Known for their incredible live performances, Quimby Mountain Band is truly a crowd favorite and performing fresh material from their newest album, Quimby Mountain Band III, it’s easy to see why. Their collaborative effort in the studio carries effortlessly onto the stage, where the group blends its grooves and jams with musicality and precision.
There are 12 tracks in all in the new CD, offering a variety of danceable rock, ballads, bluegrass-flavored tunes, thought-provoking lyrics, and a mesmerizing feel overall. Among some of the must-listen songs are “Town of Love”, Breakin’ the Bank”, “Down in Tennessee”, “These Blues”, and “Rising Up.” Among the “guest performers” on the CD are Tim Carbone from Railroad Earth.
Tunes from their last CD, Move On, got air time on Sirius XM Jam station.
