Buncombe County Health and Human Services, in conjunction with the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health and N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Water Resources, has lifted the precautionary recreational water use advisory issued on Sept. 21, 2018, for the French Broad River from the intersection of Lyman St and Old Lyman Streets in Asheville, NC, to the county line of Madison County, NC.
The precautionary recreational water use advisory was issued due to a sewage line break near Lyman and Old Lyman Streets on Sept. 21, 2018.
Health officials are lifting the advisory based on remediation and clean-up having concluded and recent water quality testing by the Department of Environmental Quality.
