Rumbough Place summer one-way traffic pattern begins May 12

Press release from the City of Asheville transportation department:

ASHEVILLE – The City of Asheville Transportation Department will initiate the annual change of Rumbough Place between Sulphur Springs Road and Harris Avenue to a one-way street for the summer on May 12, with traffic being directed south away from Sulphur Springs Road.   This change is undertaken every spring in preparation for the heavy use of the Malvern Hills Park for summer camps and other activities.  The Malvern Hills Pool is scheduled to open on Saturday June 7.

Please help city staff, park users, and neighborhood residents by observing this change in order to make the street safer for the additional pedestrian traffic during the summer months.  Asheville Police Department will be maintaining a presence in the area to ensure vehicles are traveling in the correct direction and at the posted speed limit of 25 mph. Drivers are asked to observe the marked spaces, utilize the drop-off lane, and not block driveways of residences on the street.
