Full announcement from the Mountain Area Citizens’ Political Action Committee:
The Mountain Area Citizens’ Political Action Committee (MACPAC) is holding their second annual Second Amendment rally in Downtown Asheville on February 22, 2014 at 12:00 noon. Turnout is expected to be very large following the hundreds of attendees at last year’s event. Citizens embrace their right to bear arms in a public rally at Pack Square near the Vance Monument.
The goal of the event is to emphasize a right, the right to bear arms, that is as Constitutional as the often exercised right of free speech. By bringing hundreds of citizens to one location, MACPAC’s hope is to remove the stigma associated with gun supporters, and unite those who uphold all amendments to the U.S. Constitution as equal in importance.
The event will begin at noon, and will feature speeches by several gun supporting North Carolinians. These supporters include Dr. Greg Brannon – U.S. Senatorial candidate, Dr. Carl Mumpower – Former Asheville City Councilman, and Kevin D. King – Managing Editor of MoonshineCarolina.com.
Attendees are encouraged to bring signs containing supportive language to the Second Amendment and/or wear an empty holster demonstrating your inability to exercise your rights.

So far during the Obama Administration, gun ownership is at an all-time historical high. A recent study released showed that during these same years, four times more guns were purchased than babies born. This country is literally awash in guns, yet the NRA and their local shills continue to act is if this Amendment is under fire, while the true mission is to help the gun manufacturers sell as many guns as they can, to whoever wants to buy them.
And yet the First and Fourth Amendments have been systematically attacked and weakened while these people whine about guns. Some of them should actually read the rest of the Ten Amendments.
Yep, what Dionysus said.
If it’s actually a rally to support all the Amendments to the Constitution, why is it billed as a Second Amendment rally?
