Slide the Fletch fundraiser features waterslides, games

From Hall Fletcher Elementary:

SLIDE THE FLETCH IS BACK – BIGGER, BETTER, AND A WHOLE LOT WETTER!

On Saturday August 20th, Hall Fletcher Elementary in West Asheville is hosting the second annual “Slide the Fletch.” This fundraiser will feature four large Slip-n-Slides, human bowling, baby-pool kickball, a giant inflatable waterslide, and a covered toddler area. Live music and food trucks will round out the fun outdoor event which is family friendly and open to all.

“Hall Fletcher, a year-round elementary school, has been back in session since July. This is a way for us to keep the summer going for our children and those in the community who are looking too cool off and have fun,” says organizer Robin Payne, Hall Fletcher Elementary PTO Member.

The almost two-acre field adjacent to Hall Fletcher, in the East West Asheville neighborhood, is a perfect place for slip-and-slides and summer time fun. All proceeds from the event will benefit Hall Fletcher Elementary.

The website – SlideTheFletch.com has more information about the event, offers online registration, and will be updated with food truck and musician information closer to the event. Registration will also be available on the morning of the event beginning at 10:30am. Participants will be provided wristbands and will be required to sign a waiver prior to sliding. Those under 18 MUST have an adult present to sign their waiver. Local businesses are invited to sponsor this event by contacting slidethefletch@gmail.com.

There is a suggested donation of $5 for sliders under 18 and $8 for those 18 and over. All proceeds benefit Hall Fletcher Elementary School.

Hall Fletcher Elementary School is located in West Asheville and is home to 350 students from the City of Asheville and Buncombe County. For more information about Slide the Fletch, please contact Robin Payne at (828) 713-9281 or slidethefletch@gmail.com.
