As builders of the “Stranger Things” house last year, at Vermont Avenue’s famous Halloween event, Street Creature Puppet Collective rocked the block. Complete with a Surfer Boy Pizza van, a creepy Vecna tangled in vines and a portal to the Upside Down, the popular installation set a high bar for 2023.
This year, the theme is Land of Fairytales!
Turn the pages in the giant story book and see classic fairytale characters and scenes come to life, including Jack and the Beanstalk, Sleeping Beauty, The Goose That Laid the Golden Egg, Rapunzel, Hansel & Gretel and even a giant light up dragon! Made mostly from cardboard and creativity, this labor of love will delight all ages.
You’re invited to enter the realm of Once Upon a Time at 28 Vermont Ave, West Asheville. opening Tuesday, Oct. 31. at 5 p.m.
