Sylva Herald: Jackson Co. grant loses may affect seniors

The state has warned Jackson officials to anticipate a 5-percent cut in grant funding in the upcoming year, regardless of possible reductions through the General Assembly in the upcoming state budget. Growth in Jackson County’s senior population, as measured by U.S. Census figures, was smaller, percentage wise, than in some other counties.
