Press release from the Smoky Mountain Toy Run:
Saturday, November 2nd, motorcycle enthusiasts from around Western North Carolina will rev up their motorcycles to participate in the annual Smoky Mountain Toy Run. Hundreds of motorcycles will descend on the Kearfott Corporation parking lot near Black Mountain for this, the 39th year of the event. Hundreds of spectators will also line the route which will take the motorcycles through Swannanoa on US70 toward Tunnel Road, passing through Beaucatcher Tunnel and ending at City/County Plaza.
The event kicks off with gates opening at 10am and the parade departs at 1pm. Food, music, drawings and displays will help everyone feel the Christmas spirit. Riders are ask to bring a new toy worth at least $15 or pay $15 per person to participate. Toys and monetary donations from non-riders can also be dropped off at the event or at Harley-Davidson of Asheville.
