Press release from the campaign of Brian Turner:
Asheville, NC – House District 116 candidate Brian Turner announced Monday that his campaign
had crossed the 1000 donor mark.
“Over 1000 individuals have given to my campaign because they believe that we need bring balance back to Raleigh.” Turner said in a statement.
Turner has not taken a single dollar from special interest groups or political action committees.
“I want to go to Raleigh to be an independent voice for the people of Buncombe County,” Turner said. “My opponent Tim Moffitt, on the other hand, has consistently taken a majority of his donations from special interests and that’s why he’s always stood up for them.”
In the second quarter, Moffitt received nearly 80 percent of his contributions from special interest groups. An analysis by Project Vote Smart concluded that Moffitt had received over $125,000 in special interests contributions over his career.
The 3rd Quarter reporting deadline for legislative candidates was Saturday, October 18th.
