UNC Asheville hosting community input session regarding development of Millennial Campus property

Press release from University of North Carolina Asheville:

On Wednesday, April 16, the University of North Carolina Asheville will hold a Millennial Campus community input session from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Blue Ridge Room in Highsmith Student Union on UNC Asheville’s campus.

Interested individuals are welcome to share their ideas and contribute to the decision-making process regarding the development of the University’s Millennial Campus properties.

Approved by the UNC Board of Governors in April 2021, UNC Asheville received the Millennial Campus designation for portions of University-owned property to enhance the institution’s research, teaching, and service missions as well as enhance the economic development of the region served by the institution.

The University is exploring options such as affordable workforce and student housing, research and industry collaborations, and facilities for education, sports, childcare, entertainment, and recreation. These initiatives aim to strengthen the University experience for students, employees, and the larger Western North Carolina community.

Capacity for this event is limited. Attendees who wish to comment will be required to sign up at the door when they arrive.

Each speaker will have up to three minutes to share their remarks in response to the following question: “What expansion of University operations and/or development would you like to see on UNC Asheville’s designated Millennial Campus property?”

Parking on campus is free. All vehicles must be registered to park on campus using the visitor parking registration system. Permitted visitors may park in Visitor, Non-Resident, or All Permit lots. Parking locations may be found on the UNC Asheville campus map.
