Media advisory from the City of Asheville:
Following a community conversation on the impacts of hotels, the Urban Land Institute will be back in Asheville to present recommendations on best land use practices and strategies to better plan for and regulate hotel development.
The meeting will take place from 5:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30, at Harrah’s Cherokee Center – Asheville Banquet Room, 87 Haywood St.
City staff will utilize ULI’s recommendations as part of their continuing efforts to analyze hotel development and tourism. The public can anticipate staff to be back with their final recommendations regarding appropriate policies, strategies, tools and regulations for tourism and hotel development in the summer of 2020.
