Asheville, NC, – On Monday, June 12 at 7:30PM the community will gather for a remembrance vigil honoring those victims of the PULSE nightclub massacre.
“Last year we came together to mourn and heal. This year we gather again to remember the victims, the many acts of kindness afterwards and stand together in Love and Peace” said Derrick Boyd of O’Henry’s.
The remembrance vigil, titled ‘Compassion, Commitment, Community’ will take place at O’Henry’s, 237 Haywood Street, Asheville, NC. The evening will begin at 7:30PM. All ages are welcome for the service. The vigil will include music from Cantaria-The Gay Men’s Chorus of Asheville, several local community speakers and conclude with a reading of the victim’s names during the lighting of candles.
Butch Thompson, the event organizer remarked “The massacre at PULSE last year impacted all of our lives. And it is important that we remember those lives and become involved in our communities. We have a responsibility to share their stories.”
