Vigil for Syria set for April 13 at Vance Monument

Press release:

Vigil for Syria set for April 13

In collaboration with the Women’s March on Washington organizers, Stronger Together WNC-North and Asheville NOW leaders invite you to attend a vigil in honor of the people of Syria.

Syrian refugees have endured unfathomable devastation only to encounter extreme vetting; they are eager to find safety, security, and peace.

We call on all human rights advocates to join us this Thursday, April 13, at 6pm to stand in peaceful solidarity at the Vance Monument downtown. As a community, we will gather at the same time as other groups throughout the United States in order to show regional and national support for the Syrian people.

Please bring candles and signs with you to the vigil. Share this event on social media using the hashtag #WomenForSyria. Together, let’s send a strong message that we are not afraid to speak up; we refuse to be silent in the face of global atrocities.
