THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIAN OFFICE OF THE WILDERNESS SOCIETY ANNOUNCES EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES IN CELEBRATION OF THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE WILDERNESS ACT
(SYLVA, NC)—2014 marks the 50th anniversary of The Wilderness Act and the Southern Appalachian Office of The Wilderness Society in conjunction with other agencies and organizations across the Southeast presents events and activities to celebrate this milestone throughout the year. These include guided hikes and walks in Wilderness Areas, events celebrating the connections between Wilderness and the arts, trail maintenance volunteer opportunities, celebratory gatherings and more.
The list of regional events can be found at www.southeastwilderness50.org and more events will be added throughout the year.
