WAYNESVILLE, N.C. (April 15, 2016) — The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will reopen the Wayne E. Smith Shooting Range on Cold Mountain Game Land in Haywood County on April 16.
Hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The range is closed on Sunday and Monday and on state holidays.
The Wayne E. Smith Shooting Range is staffed during open hours and is free to the public. Shooters are allowed to use pistols, rifles, shotguns and muzzleloaders on the range, which has five shooting lanes.
The range does not have an address, but it is located near Waynesville in Haywood County, about 2 miles past Lake Logan off Hwy 215, when traveling from Hwy 276.
