News release from the Mountain Area Workforce Development Board:
WNC Mountain Strong Job & Resource Fair will be Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at the Blue Ridge Mall (1800 Four Seasons Boulevard) in Hendersonville, NC from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm. This hiring event will continue until 6:00 pm to allow more job seekers to attend.
Over 15,000 people have filed for unemployment benefits in our region since September 27 in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. This job fair is intended to provide new opportunities for those impacted by this disaster as well as others searching for a new career. There will be resource providers in attendance including FEMA, Pisgah Legal Services, OnTrack Financial and more.
Job opportunities will be available in Healthcare, Manufacturing, Construction, Government, Tourism/Hospitality, Public Safety, Education, Staffing, IT/Tech, Sales and Logistics.
NCWorks Mobile Unit will be on site with NCWorks staff to support career services including resume preparation as well as staff from the NC Department of Commerce, Division of Employment Security to assist with unemployment claims.
