Workshop for nonprofit leaders on measuring impact and outcomes

Press release from WNC  Nonprofit Pathways:

How do you measure the impact of your programs? Evaluation expert Dr. Jill Fromewick will lead nonprofit organizations through the process in a 2 ½ hour workshop “Measuring Impact and Outcomes: Effective Evaluation = Stronger Programs and Better Grants Management” on Wednesday, May 4, upstairs in the ARC at the Toe River Arts Council in Spruce Pine. Called a “Lunch & Learn”, it is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Participants will learn how to measure and evaluate their organization’s results and impact, including how to explain their impact to funders and how to report results of grant-funded programs. This workshop provides a “nuts and bolts” introduction to practical methods for measuring and evaluating the impact of their project or program. By the end of the day, they’ll have created a brief action plan for evaluating their organization or project.  This course is appropriate for organizations of any size or stage of development. Nonprofits are encouraged to bring a team, including both staff and board, so that together they can be most effective at implementing what they learned after the course is finished.
Dr. Jill Fromewick is Executive Director of Sparrow Research Group, a global public health research consulting firm specializing in evaluation, program design, and social science research. She has over a decade of experience leading and conducting evaluations as a nonprofit consultant and staff member. Though her work frequently takes her to other parts of the United States, many of her clients are based in Asheville, where she lives.
This workshop is sponsored by WNC Nonprofit Pathways. The cost to attend is $15 for the first participant from an organization and $10 for each additional participant up to four. For a link to registration, send an email to sjanelarson@gmail.com or call Susan Larson at 765-2652.
