Tech/Media Specialist at St. Paul's UMC

Part-time Tech/Media Specialist at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 223 Hillside St. Asheville, NC: Responsible for developing and maintaining electronic media and audio visual; help us engage and communicate with the community.
The Tech/Media Specialist’s specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Update and maintain the church website and social media (currently Facebook).
Initially this will be at St. Paul’s. This work may be done remotely after an initial review.
2. To be in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings and holidays that involve a worship service (specifically Christmas eve, Easter, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday) usually from 10:30-12:30 a.m. to manage the audio visual used for worship:
a. Run the sound board
b. Connect Zoom
c. Run PowerPoint or other electronic visuals needed during worship
d. Coordinate with volunteers who may assist (e.g. camera operation)
3. Perform routine maintenance/updates so equipment is ready to use. Notify pastor or designee of needed upgrades and repairs.
4. Serve as advisory technical support to church staff and volunteers.
5. Other duties as discussed and coordinated with the pastor.

Hours
This position is a part-time position for 5-8 hour-per-week. Some of the hours are flexible but should be consistent and coordinated with the pastor to efficiently perform the tasks required.

Wage: The starting wage offered is $18/hour for 5-8 hours per week.
