Small Bites

Just in time for wedding season, Williams-Sonoma has opened its first Asheville location. The behemoth kitchen retailer has taken up residence at 10 Brook St. in Biltmore Village. For hours and more information, call 277-3707.

Observant Jews this week are mainly eating matza, but the Jewish Community Center in Asheville is already looking forward to the leavened delicacies to be enjoyed again once Passover ends. The center is planning an Israeli cooking workshop for Tuesday, April 29, at 7 p.m. The class—which features hummus, falafel and tabouli preparations—will be led by Goldie Weizman, who ran a deli in Florida. Registration is $8 for JCC members and $12 for the general public; call 253-0701 for reservations.
