Want to eat chocolate in the Masonic Temple while listening local music and other entertainment, and help to provide sliding-scale pre- and post-natal care to mothers and families in Asheville? Yes, you do.
Here’s the deal:
On Sunday, Jan. 29, the Fourth Trimester Family Center and the Doula Association of the Mountain Area host the Chocolate and Talent Festival at the Masonic Temple (80 Broadway) from 2 until 5 p.m.
A ticket to the event is good for four chocolate-tastings from any of the participating local and regional artisans at the event, including:

An eclectic mix of entertainment, from dance to digeridoo, will also be provided. Here’s the schedule of events:
Afro-Brazilian chant, music, dance: Yemanja — 2:20-2:30
Brazilian martial arts: Capoeira Angola — 2:35-2:50
West African drumming: Skinny Beats Drum group — 2:55-3:20
Eternal Hip Hop: Urban Arts Initiative hip hop dance troupe — 3:25-3:50
Folk Music: Singer songwriter — 3:55-4:20
Digeridoo and drum ambient music — 4:25-5:00
The event is $12 for adults, $7 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for children ages 5 and under. All proceeds benefit Fourth Trimester Family Center and DAMA. For more information, visit the event website.
