Brevard College Hosts Community Outdoor Gear Swap March 20

Brevard College will host a community outdoor gear swap on Saturday, March 20, as part of the Banff Film Festival Weekend. There will also be paddling and cycling clinics.

The swap, which will offer an excellent chance to get good prices on used outdoor gear, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Porter Center for Performing Arts Amphitheatre on the college campus. Anyone may bring and/or buy used outdoor gear during the swap. Sellers are urged to bring a table or tarp to display their goods in the amphitheatre, which is located just outside the entrance of the Porter Center. Brevard College is offering the space to sellers for free as a community building event.

As part of the gear swap, Sycamore Cycles will offer a free bike maintenance clinic at 9 a.m. Headwaters Outfitters will offer a free cold water paddling clinic at 1 p.m.

For additional information on the gear swap, contact Thad Walker at Brevard College at walkertm@brevard.edu.

The gear swap is just one of number of outdoor events happening as part of the Banff Film Festival Weekend.  A complete listing of Banff Film Festival Weekend in Brevard events as well as special Banff dining, shopping and accommodation offers are available online at www.brevard.edu/banff.
