To reduce the spread of white nose syndrome, the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission urges people to stay out of caves and mines. The agency also encourages people to:
- Volunteer for the N.C. Bat Acoustic Monitoring Program or other such project.
- Install a backyard bat house or plant a bat garden.
- Donate through the checkoff for the Nongame and Endangered Wildlife Fund listed on the state income tax form.
- Register a vehicle or trailer with an N.C. wildlife conservation license plate.
- Donate online at ncwildlife.org/give.
