On Friday, March 22, come celebrate with Carolina Mountains Credit Union, a division of Self-Help Credit Union. The credit union is launching its first-ever local certificate of deposit — the Go Local CD. The result of a partnership with Asheville Grown and the Go Local campaign, the new investment vehicle will help fund the credit union’s home mortgages (that will never be sold), as well as small-business, auto and signature loans. The Go Local CD will also help the credit union support local economic-development projects.
As the slogan says, “Put Your Money Where Your Heart Is: Love Western North Carolina: Invest Local.”
The launch party will take place at Carolina Mountains’ south Asheville branch (1911 S. Hendersonville Road) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will feature tasty local treats. The first 50 people to open a Go Local CD will receive a free Love Asheville Go Local card and directory, offering discounts on products and services at more than 360 locally owned businesses in Asheville. These cards help to support Asheville City Schools and the Asheville City Schools Foundation.
