FLOAT ON: Last October, UNCA installed a floating wetland consisting of five separate plant islands in one of its stormwater ponds. Although the primary purpose is to filter pollutants such as nitrogen from the water before it drains into the French Broad River, incorporating native plants also creates pollinator habitat.
