It is a short agenda, but you’ll still have to wait until the end for Council to name which candidates members want to interview for Holly Jones’ vacant Council seat. During a discussion under “New Business,” Council will determine who and how many of the 47 applicants get to advance to the interview process on Dec. 9 (look for a rundown of the complete field of applicants in the Dec. 3 issue of Xpress). From that smaller group, Council will vote to appoint the person who will finish out the last year of Jones’ term.
But that’s not all Council will be doing at the meeting meeting. Also on the agenda is a discussion about the evolving role of the Technical Review Committee and new language establishing zoning regulations for pet cemeteries and crematoriums.
Council meets at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2, in the second floor of Asheville City Hall. For the complete agenda, go here.
