Asheville City Council preview: May 20 meeting

Council’s work session this Tuesday, May 20, will include an update on the 2006 ordinance prohibiting sex offenders in city parks, and City Attorney Bob Oast will brief Council on a possible statewide moratorium on city-initiated annexation currently being considered in Raleigh.

Council member Holly Jones will give a presentation on nonprofits’ involvement in elections, and fellow member Carl Mumpower will propose local actions for immigration issues.

    Way to go Carl M. Your stand on immigration laws should guarantee you to be our next congressman!

    I sure Raleigh does the right thing for a change and stops these hostile annexations. It’s plain unAmerican.
