Asheville City Council preview: May 29 community meeting on homelessness

Asheville City Council will hold a community forum this evening (Tues., May 29) in lieu of its formal session, which is typical for months with a fifth Tuesday. This time, Council will focus on homelessness in the city, and residents will be able to tell city officials their ideas on how to address the problem.

And the public’s voice may be heard and heeded far more than people think: A recent public forum on Bele Chere helped directly spearhead changes in the popular festival that have already been approved by the Council.

The forum will he held this evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church (40 Church St., downtown Asheville). Citizens are asked to enter the church for the forum through the door on Aston Street next to the circular drive.

So come out and let your ideas be heard. Click here for more details.
