Asheville’s Kyle Ann Ross, whose early morning trek in 2005 to tend a neighbor’s pets in Oakley led to an erroneous arrest and three jolts from a Taser, will be a panelist tomorrow, Sept. 26, on the Fox network’s “Morning Show With Mike and Juliet.” The show airs at 10 a.m. on local cable channel 6 (WHNS-Greenville).
The panel discussion will focus on the use of Tasers by law enforcement. Since her own experience, Ross has become an advocate for reform of the APD-complaint process and for external police oversight. According to Ross, her recent Xpress commentary on the subject, “Shocked,” prompted the invitation from the show.

Thanks for reading through to the end…
We share your inclination to get the whole story. For the past 25 years, Xpress has been committed to in-depth, balanced reporting about the greater Asheville area. We want everyone to have access to our stories. That’s a big part of why we've never charged for the paper or put up a paywall.
We’re pretty sure that you know journalism faces big challenges these days. Advertising no longer pays the whole cost. Media outlets around the country are asking their readers to chip in. Xpress needs help, too. We hope you’ll consider signing up to be a member of Xpress. For as little as $5 a month — the cost of a craft beer or kombucha — you can help keep local journalism strong. It only takes a moment.
I hear that freakinAsheville dot com will be hosting a “tazing for dollars” event in the near future. That should be exciting.
Looking at Ms Ross’ photo, I can just tell that she is a vicious, terroristic person, who needed tazing while surrounded by THREE police officers!
I think EVERY police officer should be zapped at least three times EACH, before being handed a tazer, just so they know what it’s like.
