Blog Log: The week in local blogging

Like we’ve said before, we at Blog Log like to find themes in our weekly stroll through Blogtown. Sometimes, that thread eludes us. But other times, a theme pops out early on and — BOOYAH! — it’s like this thing writes itself.

OK, so obsession seems an obvious topic for a group of people who post daily thoughts and observations with no hope of compensation, but while there are obsessions like the ones over at Running Gags — the kind that manifest in philosophies like “Pain, I welcome you”, there are also those of the less-intense variety. Like Bruisin’ Ales Beer Blog’s push to patent its favorite word.

A Girl Who Wears Glasses’ obsession was a fleeting but crucial one, involving a hairstyle at the Feist Concert that she just had to have a picture of.

Cranky Pants Blog participated in the national obsession known as Flat Stanley.

There’s the mysterious underlying lawn boy obsession over at Chicken Inwind/Hillfoot Adrift.

Girl Named Boo took time to scold others for their obsessiveness.

And, as Hangover Journals learned, it’s best not to use the Internet to obsess over a dent in your head.
