Plans for the future seem to be the theme of the agenda for the April 8 meeting of the Buncombe County Board of Commissioners, as the county rolls out plans or initiatives for the aging, Woodfin and, well, the entire county.
County Manager Wanda Greene will present the county’s 2020 Comprehensive Plan, while county staff will also present a four-year plan on dealing with Buncombe’s aging population. The board will also consider approval of a series of financing districts in Woodfin, to help the town build a centralized downtown area.
In addition, the board will vote on leasing county property to the Bent Creek Community for use as a park and a resolution setting guidelines for funding nonprofit agencies.
The meeting begins at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, in room 204 of the Buncombe County Courthouse. A pre-meeting, including public comment, begins at 4 p.m.
