At its regular session on Tuesday, March 20, the Buncombe County Board of Commissioners will hear from Sheriff Van Duncan on changes in his department and consider: support for Beaucatcher Overlook Park, creation of a Farmland Preservation Plan, tightening animal-control regs and new restrictions on peep-show booths at adult establishments. Under the proposed porn-booth ordinance, “said booths must be designed and situated so that the area occupied by the patron is visible at all times from a central location within the establishment, and may not have a door, curtain or other device that shields the patron from view.”
In other business, there will be public hearings on community-development block-grant applications and a Limestone zoning ordinance amendment changing one lot from R-2 (residential) to EMP (employment). Board appointments and proclamation of Land Surveyor’s Week (March 18-24) will round out the agenda.
Formal meetings begin at 4:30 p.m., and are preceeded by a public comment session at 4.
