In their last meeting before the Thanksgiving holiday, the Buncombe County Commissioners will consider declaring their support for a performing-arts center in Asheville and amending the county’s stormwater ordinance, and hear an update on the Meals on Wheels program.
Besides some major funding amendments on the consent agenda ($2.5 million each to Mental Health and Human Services), the only other matters the commissioners are set to tackle are appointments to the Senior Volunteer Services Advisory Council, the Women’s Commission and the Nursing Home Advisory Board.
The meeting will be held in room 204 of the County Courthouse at 60 Court Plaza in downtown Asheville. Public comment is taken during the work session, which begins at 4 p.m.
