Happening Now: The Appalachian Women Entrepreneurs Gathering

Nearly 100 people are attending the Appalachian Women Entrepreneurs Gathering today at the Haywood Park Hotel. The Appalachian Women Entrepreneurs (AWE), a program of HandMade in America, provides a forum for women across six rural WNC counties to “come together and support and inspire each other” in their business endeavors. They also provide access to resources and tools to help their members’ businesses prosper.

This afternoon’s agenda includes panel discussions focusing on rural entrepreneurship, “Taking Care of Yourself,” networking, legal and financial planning, and marketing.

Yesterday’s AWE (Appalachian Women Entrepreneurs) Gathering was a great example of the many rural entrepreneurial women who are committed and passionate about creating a successful and sustainable livelihood for themselves and their communities. Also great examples of the wonderful business resources we have available in WNC.
