While the blogs are a great place to discuss the topics of the day, in terms of overall discussion, they can be a little limiting. After all, readers are only allowed to talk about subjects Xpress puts up for discussion.
But, what if you wanted to talk about local sports? Or an upcoming concert you’re excited about seeing? Or some local news story that we’ve missed? Unless you wanted to derail an existing discussion and risk a “tsk, tsk” from the moderators, you couldn’t.
Starting today, however, you have a new choice. We’ve launched our new MountainX.com forums. Now, you can start your own discussions on local topics, from politics and environmentalism to music and fashion.

Thanks for reading through to the end…
We share your inclination to get the whole story. For the past 25 years, Xpress has been committed to in-depth, balanced reporting about the greater Asheville area. We want everyone to have access to our stories. That’s a big part of why we've never charged for the paper or put up a paywall.
We’re pretty sure that you know journalism faces big challenges these days. Advertising no longer pays the whole cost. Media outlets around the country are asking their readers to chip in. Xpress needs help, too. We hope you’ll consider signing up to be a member of Xpress. For as little as $5 a month — the cost of a craft beer or kombucha — you can help keep local journalism strong. It only takes a moment.
Great start Steve! Reasonable guidelines, good user control and clean interface. I’m liking it, and Thank you!
Don’t thank me, I’m just an Admin. Our web guy, Jon Teeple, deserves the praise.
But I’m glad you like it. We hope our other users will too.
Sweet! Another distraction from work. Thanks.
nice!
