Early voting — and the last chance to register — for the Asheville City Council primary is taking place at the Buncombe County Board of Elections through Saturday, Oct. 6. Polls are open at 189 College St. Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Polls will remain open on Saturday, Oct. 6, until 1 p.m.
One-stop-voting allows anyone not registered to vote to do so, and to cast their ballot in the primaries, where 15 candidates will be narrowed down to six for the general election in November. Voters who register during one-stop voting must cast their ballots at the Board of Elections before the Oct. 6 deadline.
For more information, call the Buncombe County Board of Elections at 250-4200.

Before you comment
The comments section is here to provide a platform for civil dialogue on the issues we face together as a local community. Xpress is committed to offering this platform for all voices, but when the tone of the discussion gets nasty or strays off topic, we believe many people choose not to participate. Xpress editors are determined to moderate comments to ensure a constructive interchange is maintained. All comments judged not to be in keeping with the spirit of civil discourse will be removed and repeat violators will be banned. See here for our terms of service. Thank you for being part of this effort to promote respectful discussion.
