If it’s the first Tuesday of the month, it can only mean one thing: It’s Buncombe County Commissioners time!

Bring the whole family to the board’s Dec. 4 meeting, which begins with public comment at 4 p.m.!

See local government in action!

Watch as the board considers a series of rezoning requests from county residents!

Thrill as it elects a vice-chairman!

Plows its way through a handful of conservation easement requests!

Authorizes contracts for site development at the new Buncombe County Animal Shelter!

Weighs reimbursing the county for a number of capital expenses using proceeds from “certain tax-exempt obligations”!

And — last but not least — considers authorization of an installment-financing contract!

All of this and much, much more takes place in room 204 of the Buncombe County Courthouse.

When it ends is anybody’s guess.
