A new video produced by Buncombe County aims to answer the question, “what happens to your garbage once it leaves your back door or driveway?”
Obviously, the landfill is a place where trash gets buried. But the county’s website also touts the fact that the “Solid Waste Department has many programs that not only dispose of trash and improve our methods of recycling, but even generate electricity.”
Producers of this video, which originally aired on Buncombe County’s government TV channel, ask viewers to “follow along with landfill employees to learn all about these revolutionary processes in a ‘Day in the Life’ of the Solid Waste Department. The idea is to show “firsthand how these employees work to efficiently dispose of our garbage in a green way, according to the county website.
