Who is that masked pollster? Xpress readers report phone queries regarding new power plant-attachment0

Xpress has received numerous tips from readers who say they’ve received phone calls from a polling company in Ohio. The questions, our tipsters say, are focussed on the proposed Progress Energy plant in Woodfin and are framed as a “push poll,” which is to say they are posed in such a way as to reinforce certain attitudes or answers. Pollsters have been unwilling to identify the source of funding for the poll, according to the tips we’ve received.

If you have received one of these calls — and especially if you’ve recorded it — please contact Xpress at 251-1333, ext. 115 or cbothwell@mountainx.com.
