Xpress wants writers

Spring is nearly upon us, and with it comes a need — at Xpress at least — for some ace freelancers to contribute to the paper’s ongoing Outdoors section and The Dirt, our farming and gardening column, which is slated to return March 5 after a winter slumber.

If you have a knack for writing and an expertise in either outdoor sports and adventure or farming and gardening, please send an e-mail with a writing sample and your qualifications to sections editor Kent Priestley at kpriestley [at] mountainx.com, or send the same to Kent Priestley, c/o Mountain Xpress, P.O. Box 144, Asheville, N.C., 28802

Similar to our other content, both sections are emphatically local in scope, so we’re looking for some good voices from Western North Carolina.

    I’ve never been so disappointed as when I eagerly turned to the new column titled “The Dirt” and found out it was actually about dirt.
