Here’s your sneak preview of the Nov. 26 edition of the Mountain Xpress, which features a cover story about the Asheville band Toubab Krewe.
Toubab chose The Orange Peel as the setting to record their second album, eight previously unreleased tracks recorded over two nights last New Year’s Eve. It’s an hour of fluid jams, undeniable chemistry and musical exploration that solidifies the group’s reputation as a force to be reckoned with live and, says guitarist Drew Heller, “the most accurate and real representation of who we are and where we’re at.” The band is holding its CD-release party on Saturday at the Peel.
In other news, you’ll hear about some exciting changes to the Mountain Xpress print product. Watch the video to hear Managing Editor Jon Elliston describe what’s ahead.
one more camera, a decent microphone, lighting, editing…you’re almost there….seriously, sign up for some classes at URTV…it’ll keep your videos from looking like my uncle’s VHS recordings from the ’80s…..
worth every penny!
And keep it lookin’ raw and Napoleon Dynamite, yo! Like my uncles VHS recordings from the ’80s. He invented the electric guitar only 2 years after Les Paul and video documented every wound he ever had.
