YERT (not to be confused with yurt) stands for Your Environmental Road Trip, a yearlong, cross-country eco-expedition launched to explore America’s take on sustainability. Documented with a series of mini Web documentaries and a blog, a traveling trio — Mark Dixon, Ben Evans and Julie Dingman Evans — have ferreted out and showcased green projects and personalities for the past 9 months. (To get a taste of their comedic style, watch this Eco Chico Elvis Christmas video shot in Kansas City.) Last week, YERT was discovered by The Weather Channel.
The YERT team landed in Asheville on Monday night, and this evening, Tuesday, March 11, they’ll get a chance to unwind at a potluck in Montford. Sustainable Asheville, a local grassroots organization, joins New Life Journal and the tiny “green” house in hosting the YERT team at Pearson Garden, located at the end of Pearson Drive. The meal begins at 6 p.m.
