The Asheville-based band launches its debut EP, ‘Etchings of Birds, Swimming in Song’ and a video for the song “Tumble Me Dry.”
According to Tyler Jackson, the album is not only conceptual in a lyrical sense, it explores his idea of “the other side” in a musical sense as well.
Originally from Roosevelt, N.Y., Conner moved to Asheville about four years ago. His parents and sister now live here, too, but “when I came in just to visit, I liked the place, the idea that there’s no set way to do anything. Whoever wants to make their own way can play,” he says.
The soul-searching and beat-savvy four-song collection came out of four- or five-day writing and recording session. Spaceman Jones and Chachillie perform a show at The Odditorium on Saturday, Jan. 21.
New recording King Summer, a three song EP in advance of full-length Sensitivity Kit — due out next year — takes the band’s vision to the next level. RBTS WIN will perform those songs, other new material and back catalog favorites at Isis Restaurant & Music Hall on Saturday, Dec. 10.
