At its fifth annual award celebration, local giving circle CoThinkk reimagined the possibilities and recognized the work of community activists and leaders.
“I dreamed of The Race Relations Station, a place where all kinds of people gather in small groups, simply getting to know folks different from themselves and discovering their common humanity.”
The music and spoken word performance event takes place Sept. 9 at The Block Off Biltmore.
“Anybody can write, but to choose it as a profession? That’s a hard economic choice,” poet Glenis Redmond muses. “I think people were making those choices, no matter what, but it was harder choice in the mountains.”
