In addition to its phenomenal lineup of musical performances, Moogfest offered a wealth of workshops, demonstrations and panel discussions. Experts, ranging from Bob Moog’s colleagues in the seminal days of synthesis to the more contemporary sound sculptors of today, came from around the country to share their ideas and vast experiences. Not surprisingly, Girl Talk won the night’s “Best Dance Party” award with mesmerizing mash-ups of songs that seemed almost impossible to mix together, like Guns ‘n Roses “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and Beyonce’s “All the Single Ladies.” As is usually the case at Girl Talk shows, raging fans took over the stage and transformed it into a globular dancing mass of flesh from start to finish.
