UNCA comes close, but Syracuse tops Bulldogs 72-65
Did they think it could really happen? Well, yes, the students watching the game at the Highsmith Student Union did, until, well, it didn’t. Still, UNCA did well, getting a nod on an NPR report on first-round games for coming close.

UNC Asheville was chosen to be the No. 16 seed in the East Region for the NCAA basketball tournament. The Bulldogs will face No. 1 seed Syracuse on Thursday in Pittsburgh.
