Director Aaron Snook began to search for a time in American history with a similar feel and discovered plenty of parallels in the Reconstruction era — specifically, the legendary Appalachian feud between the Hatfield and McCoy families.
It’s no wonder that The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [Revised] is such a popular play in the Asheville area. It’s an automatic crowd-pleasing comedy.
The production, staged on the new Fangmeyer stage at Haywood Arts Regional Theatre, runs through Sunday, Jan. 22.
