Last week, freelance writer and coffee-shop employee Jason Bugg posted an essay on his personal blog So Much For Tact on the literary failings of Tim Rawal. As the author of the Raw Talk column for the Asheville Citizen-Times’ Take 5 Street publication, Rawal was criticized for doing “a wonderful job of encompassing everything that I hate.” Xpress’ report of Bugg’s online attack saw the start of a very interesting discussion about Rawal’s work (as well as other local columnists), but Rawal himself didn’t appear interested in chiming in.
Until today, that is. Rawal’s rebuttal is well worth the read, taking Bugg to task for his own failings while managing to keep his customary self-effacing style.
Anyone out there in internet-land have any thoughts on this digital feud?
