Established in 1986, CarePartners Adult Day Services offers participants a safe and stimulating daytime environment. While many participants have some form of dementia, individuals with a wide variety of impairments come to Adult Day Services.
Participants maintain their independence by remaining in their own homes, while having an opportunity to enjoy a variety of planned and structured activities in a supervised environment outside of the home. Plus, not only do the caregivers of impaired adults get relief from the strain of providing 24-hour care and supervision, they also receive support and counseling from an experienced staff.
In addition to daily activities, other available services include: personal care assistance, administration of medication, monitoring of vital signs and blood glucose readings, and attention to dietary needs and caregiver education. But perhaps most importantly, Adult Day Services provides a social outlet for participants, a place to mingle with friends. As one patient remarks, “Adult Day Services has given me a new life. It is my life.”
Adult Day Services is located on the campus of CarePartners Health Service at 68 A Sweeten Creek Rd., Asheville. Info: 277-3399 or www.carepartners.org
