West Asheville will soon get a taste of the java, snacks and styles of downtown’s Izzy’s Coffee Den. The owner, Amber Arthur, says she’ll open a second location, Izzy’s Coffee House, at 373 Haywood Road, in a old, restored house.
Arthur says customers can expect “the same thing you see at Izzy’s”: good coffee, cheap eats and local art gracing the walls. She plans on running a “comfortable, cozy coffee shop for West Asheville.” Catie Conroy, long a bartender at Limones restaurant, is a co-owner and will run the day-to-day operations, according to Arthur.
While the new shop will have much in common with the downtown location, it’ll have more elbow room: Izzy’s Coffee House will take up much of an old house restored by architect Robert Todd, and Arthur says she’s especially excited about the house’s sizable porch.
Arthur plans to open the new coffee shop around April 1; stay tuned to Xpress for details as they become available. For more information, call Izzy’s Coffee Den at 258-2004.

this is the best news ever
Great news!
It’s a shame that the space that they were looking at, right next door to Blue Barnhouse, didn’t pan out… but I am SUPER estatic to hear that they still realized the need in the neighborhood and got a spot that is still on my walk in to work!
I love Izzy’s.
Izzy’s coffee is my favorite, particularly the cold brew. Can’t wait to settle into the old house.
I love Izzy’s.
Now you have one next to your work, and on your way to work.
Izzy’s is great. It has some of the vibe & great coffee that Vincent’s Ear used to have. This is good news!!!~
WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD!! See you soon and often!
