On Saturday, April 10, a large group of talented bakers, both professional and amateur, gathered together for a cupcake bakeoff, Cupcakes for Cures. The event, held at the Grove Park Inn, raised over $6,000 for the American Cancer Society and was fun for all — even the judges (including Xpress’ own Mackensy Lunsford) who were required to taste nearly 60 delicious but extremely filling cupcakes. Here’s a fantastic behind-the-scenes video that features the folks at the French Broad Chocolate Lounge preparing for battle, as well as some great footage of the actual event at the GPI. Shot by Aaron Morrell of Grae Skye Studio.
